problem with slide show

I want to make a slide show. After placing all the pictures in using elements 6, elements then removes some of them leaving a blue screen. Sometimes only a couple but sometimes 5 or 6 go away. When I click on a picture to add text, sometimes the picture will then disappear or will not show up on the large screen. Does anyone know the problem and how to solve it? Chasjr.
