Moving Version Stacks and Groups

Is there a way of moving a set of photo's in a Version Stack(s) or Group(s) from one laptop to another. I don't want to move the entire repository just selected images.

Assume that both machines are running Elements Verison 7 on Win XP and the directory structures in source and target are the same.

The reason I ask is that I have several laptops running Elements and I would like to have the ability to move Version Stacks and Groups created in one machine to another.

THere is no way to move selected images from one computer to another and maintain the version sets or stacks inside the PSE Organizer.

You can move entire catalogs, and the entire set of photos, by putting catalog file and photos on an EHD. http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/...Using_a_single

Another possibility is to put everything on a network drive: http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/...ng_the_catalog

As explained in detail in the FAQ that Paige linked to, you can reconstruct your version sets as stacks, using Edit > Stack > Automatically Suggest Stacks.

John,

Many thanks for the response. The problem with that is that Elements will suggest stacks for photo's that you don't necessarily want in stacks and the amount of time required to go through the list is tedious.

It would be nice and you would think relatively simple to be able to export and import and main stack structures.

Kind Regards

Paul

Agreed. But you can minimize the review time by selecting just the batch of photos you've imported before invoking Automatically Suggest.

There are many days when I wish that Adobe would just replace the Organizer with Lightroom. It and Elements are a great combo.

I'd like to switch to Lightroom, except that it doesn't handle video or PDF.
