What a wonderful forum this is! Thank you Wendy for finding the answer.
Unfortunately I don't understand what you mean by 'add a mask and bring the colour back on the background'. Could you expand on this for me? What must I do. The thumbnail shows how far I've got.  Many thanks Mike

Hi Mike ...
For the method I used you didn't need to extract the horse onto its own layer ... but as you have already done that then all you need to do is add the original photo below Layer 0. ... and that should sort it out for you Wendy
