Wow, Nikon. Really?
Steve's Digicam's is reporting that in a promotional video created for the launch of the new D800, Nikon used footage shot with cameras other than the D800. And not just non-Nikon D800 footage, but Canon 5DMII footage.

I know we're subjected to unethical marketing practices all the time, but this just seems to take the cake.

Oops! I guess Nikon just doesn't have enough 800's to go round

They can't even get any 7000's on the shelves. As much as I love their products, they seem to be more interested in marketing than producing.

If this turns out to be true, it sure is embarrassing for them.

Me too Mike ... mine took me out for a very enjoyable walk this afternoon. I'm just surprised to see two new bodies announced in spite of them being unable (or uninterested) in producing the 7000.

Agreed. I just watched a few videos on Kelby Training by Bill Frakes (long-time sports photog for SI). In one of the videos he went through his gear, and included among all the D3s/D3x bodies was...a D7000.

I believe this happened once before with Nikon-filming their ads with a Canon. Certainly strange!
