Hi Jambu03 ...

Open up a Blank File then do File>Place ... select the item you want to turn into a smart object and add it to the Blank File. It will come in as a Smart Object

To create a Smart Object in PSE6, you will need to drag a photo from the Photo Bin up to another file. This will create a Frame Layer, but will act like a Smart Object, but not fully.

In PSE7, dragging up from the Photos Bin creates a Smart Object.

You will need the full version of Elements+ ($12) to create Smart Objects in PSE6/7 and then use Smart Filters on them as well.

Wendy

I tried using the Place command in PSE6 to create a Smart Object but it did not seem to work. Is there something I may be missing? When I tried resizing it, from small to large, it was pixalated. I also tried applying a Smart Filter using Elements+ and it said it was not a Smart Object.
