Where do you begin to create your own kit?

I am not a creative person but I think it might be fun to create my own kit. I have seen that many say it is time consuming. My question is do you use elements to create the pieces or is there another program? And where do I start?????

Hi ...

I usually either Photoshop or Elements to make things for a kit

First I tend to create the main theme item of the kit ... so that could be say a flower.

Then I create papers following the same theme ... usually 12 papers

Other items could be Frames, Ribbons, Bows, Page Curls, Brads, Laces, Buttons, Pins, Mats, Corners, Overlays, Tags, Alphas, Fasteners, Flowers, Key Chains, Plaques.

You can buy Commercial Actions and Other Commercial Items which you can use to make some of those items ... but I have always made all my own.

If you are a subscriber then I have a series of tutorials which show you how to make some of the items .. here is a list of them:

Wendy's Scrapbooking Mini Tutorials

and here are the threads about that last few posted:

I guess that it would take me around a couple of weeks to make a kit ..

You can scan a piece of printed fabric to make a background paper. Other things you can scan are lace and rickrack. Cut out portions of a photo for embellishments. Here are some I made using these methods some time ago when we were making kits to share here at EV:

Thanks! That helps. There's just so much I want to do, it's hard to know where to begin. So much to do, so little time of my own to do it with!
