copy part of one photo into another photo
PSE 7 Beginner. I have a mountain top that I want to copy from one photo and paste in another. I have already selected the mountain top that I want to copy, using the quick selection tool. What do I do now?
Thanks! |

BMI, either make a copy and paste it into the main photo or drag it onto the main photo.
Once moved you can position it where you wish, you may have to scale (enlarge or reduce) it to fit. You may be able to do a photo merge. Not being on PC I'm not familiar with this procedure, however, someone should be along shortly with proper instructions.

I was able to copy and paste. How do I move and resize what I pasted? Remember, I am a beginner at this!
Thanks. |

Hi ...
... and welcome to the Village ![]() OK so you copied and pasted it into your new image ... so now select the Move Tool and click on the item you pasted into the image. Once you have done that you will be able to move it around. To resize it ... when you click on the item a bounding box will come up. Move your cursor into the corner of that, click down and then drag out to make it larger and in to make it smaller. Hope that helps ![]() Wendy

These are based on CS2 on a Mac, they should be close to elements, just hunt around until you find the tools, they are all the same.
You have to use the move tool to move it. I think in elements it's: Enhance>Scale When the bounding box appears, grab a corner and while holding down the shift key drag in to reduce and out to enlarge.

Yes, great! Copied, pasted, moved, resized...how about blending the mountain top into the new photo? The original photo where I cut the mountain top was clear and distinctively contrasted with white and black. The photo where I pasted it is fuzzier and more gray. Any quick suggestions for doing this or is this going to be too tricky/complex?
Thanks a bunch! |

BMI. apparently the added photo is not the same resolution as the main photo.
You could try a Filter>Unsharp Mask Also try, alone or before the Filter Brightness/Contrast. Difficult to know the correct procedure without seeing what you have. You can post a copy on pixentral: Go to this link http://www.pixentral.com/ and follow the pictured instructions. Whatever you upload should be not much more than 2MB which is the size limit on what you can post on pixentral. Save them as jpeg. You will have to find the file you want to send and then click to send to pixenral. Triple click inside the Fourm window to highlight the link and copy. Then paste it into your elements post. :
