I have a Sony Cybershot 10.1 megapixel camera, and I have a few questions. Seems like I can never get the settings right on it. We are going to see Christmas lights this weekend, so what settings should I put it on to capture the right images of the lights, ie, so the lights will look in the pictures like they do in person? Also, when I zoom in, my pictures are always blurry. Anyone know why? Thanks a bunch! :)

I'm not sure how to explain it...but say I have an image (tree, person, whatever) and I want to have a part of it out of the image, sticking up or out. I know I can do it on an online site but is it possible to do it on PSE7 and rather than have the image get cut off, have it be trnsparent and such...?

If I can, I can upload an example of what someone did for me once.

Hello there all.

I am a student in college in CA, USA.
I use PSE7 and used to make videos with Camtasia.
I joined because I am always looking for ways to improve my graphics.
I have a shop on some sites where I make signatures, avatars and anything else needed.
Recently I've tried to learn animation and would love here with it.
I have read someof the thread around here and hope to get help and inspiration.
I am a fan of Criminal Minds so most of my graphics deal with that show.
I enjoy RP'ing and sleeping when I'm not in class.
I also love making graphics though it's more of a hobby than a major but I still love making things for my self and others.
I do hope this place will be able to help me, and maybe I can help people if I know how.
I've had this program for about a half a year and most people who have helped me, use GIMP or PS, not PSE7, so this might be better.

Thank you all for listening/reading.

- Genkai (ps, if anyone cares, I'm a chick, I just hate being assumed male)

My photo files are becoming overwhelming. I am looking for ideas on how to store, sort and retrieve photos. I have PSE6, an external drive and an 80GB computer. I currently transfer the original unedited pics to the C drive, transfer and tag them in PSE then edit/sort/search in PSE6 and finally just copy the C drive onto the external. But old pics are still on the C drive and I haven't saved the tagged pics anywhere except in PSE6.
Help!!

I've just been playing around with the full PS at work (CS3) and set it to open a JPG as a Raw file, just purely because I was trying to figure something out in ACR. I was surprised to see a number of additional tabs which aren't available on the version of ACR I have at home - the one that came bundled with Elements 7.

The PS version is ACR 4.6, whereas the version at home is, I think, a later one (sorry, still at work so can't verify this right now). Both are running on XP.

So my question is, does the full PS come with a different version of ACR than the one version shipped with Elements? I'd always assumed that, as a plug-in which is essentially a stand-alone application, ACR was the same across both programs. Or, am I using a really outdated version of ACR with Elements?! The extra tabs I'm referring to include things like lens correction, split toning, etc.
