I just purchased 2.0 and am an experienced Premiere 6.5 user. I tried to export to a digital 8 tape on my sony dcrtrv-460. I get a very choppy tape. I only have 512 mb memory on an HP P4 1.7. Will more memory help? I did make a good dvd of the same program.

I think you need not only more memory but a much faster processor. V2 needs at least a 2.4ghz processor to work well, 3.0 or better would be best.

Why would you buy Premier 2 if you have Premier Pro 6.5? Just curious, no sarcasm or negative vibes intended...

Premiere Elements is a bit more advanced than Pro 6.5, and you can do it all with Premiere Elements, with 6.5 you need other programs to do it all.

Chuck, Premier Pro is the pro version of Premier Elements. It doesn't have everything Premier Elements does, but Premier Elements will never be able to achieve all of Premeir Pro with a bundle of Encore and After Effects can do. But your point about it being a more complete package, albeit limited, is true.

Brice,
Pro 6.5 is quite an old version of Premiere, Premiere Elements is much more advanced than Pro 6.5 in many ways.

Ugh. I purchased 1.5 last year. I knew they had upgraded to 7.0 recently... I didn't think it was that old.

P.S. My ealier post should have read 1.5, not 6.5.

They went from 6.5 to a new version of Pro and called it 1.0, then they went to 1.5 and now version 2 which came out a few months ago. Version 6.5 is a few years old now.
