Hello again,

I used the 5-second audio feature on my camera for the first time on my recent vacation. In the PE3 Organizer, the audio files are shown as .mov files adjacent to the .jpg photo files.

Are the .mov files "connected" to the .jpg files in some way? If I edit a photo and do a "save as", will the .mov file automatically travel with it? What are the limitations of having a .mov audio file related to a photo file?

Thanks again,

DanO

Dan,

The only way to be 100% certain is to check out the manual that came with your camera... If you don't have a copy of the manual, you can get one from the manufacturer's website.

To answer your question to the best of my ability: a .mov file is usually an Apple Quicktime movie file. (www.quicktime.com) It should have nothing to do with your JPEG files, and you simply need to install the free Quicktime viewer onto your PC or Mac to view the video file (which may only contain audio, depending on your camera)

It's possible, but not likely, that the manufacturer of your camera used the .mov extension in conflict with Quicktime, but I seriously doubt it.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the reply.

The camera manufacturer (Panasonic) indicated they were connected somehow, but was pretty vague about. Maybe I could try to stack the files in Organizer and forget about it ???
