Didn't exactly know where to post this one. Having recently been away from the website, I came back and tried to download the newer videos. I can get them downloaded, but no sound is in them. I then noticed that my QuickTime version is now 7.1 (I think it was 6 something before.) I have verified that my sound card works and speakers are okay.Anybody have any ideas? I would appreciate them.

don't know if this is much help but I was having problems with the latest version of quick time and the sound either cutting out completely or sounding garbled. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled and I haven't had a problems since (fingers crossed).

Hi ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
Not sure if you have seen this but there is a FAQ list about problems with videos ... if you scroll down to the bottom there is a section about garbled sound. I wonder if that would help ??

Thanks for the help, but I still don't have sound, although once I did get something , but it was garbled. I uninstalled quicktime, lots of times to no avail. And I reinstalled it with my antivirus off, but that didn't help. I do know that it is not with something on this website. I visited some places with movie trailers, and there is no sound on them, as well. I even tried going back to a restore point on the computer, but that didn't work either because it said that it wasn't possible. One of those automatic Microsoft updates was in between, and I suspect that that is what prevents the restore. I think my next step is to rummage around on various cds and find an old version of Quicktime on them and install it from there.

Lucky me. I found a CD with quicktime version 5.0 on it. I installed it and the software asked me if I wanted to update to version 6.5.something. I said yes and now I have the sound back again. I turned off the preferrence to check for new versions so that this wont happen again. Thanks again everybody. I hope this tribulation keeps somebody from a bit of hairpulling because I know that I don't have a lot to spare.
