I am having an issue contolling organization of photos, I usually load and stack each photo shoot together (100+). This is where I have my problem, my last shoot was over 400 images, I like to keep them in the order they were taken, as it will keep simular ones together to make it easier when working with them. I load them into the organizer in order taken, but when I stack them, they get out of order. Any suggestions?

You don't really need to stack them. It might be better to set up either Tags or a Collection and put them into that.
If you stack them and then unstack them for working with them, they should still be in the same order as before. Are you using sort order newest to oldest or oldest to newest? (Either one should work fine - or order by import batch if you want it that way.)

Thanks for your input, I do tag them (don't use collections much as I am not too familuar with them). But by stacking them, I canwork in organizer faster (I have a few thousand images in elements). Everything is tagged, and I use newest to oldest...

Scott,
If you set the last photo of the series as the "top photo" in your stack they should maintain their newest to oldest order. Keep in mind that if you edit and resave a photo, it normally becomes the newest photo of the group and positions itself accordingly.

I assign tags, collections and stack! I sometimes feel like I am organizing myself to death! I cannot imagine not stacking them, because even with the few hundred I have, I would go nuts scrolling though all of them!

Thanks for the input. Keeping them organized can be quite a task at times.:)
I have another issue in organizer (its been happening for a while), but I don't think it’s an elements issue and I haven't asked anyone about it.
When I upgraded computers, I transfered my images. One of the images is causing a data execution error forcing elements to close. This is the weird part; it only closes elements when I get near the file (if I scroll down to the file near bottom the organizer.
It also closes windows explorer when I try to get to the (not sure which one it is) images in its folder. The help section in windows only tells me how to prevent a file from executing.

In Explorer look at the files, as data not thumbnails. See if one has an incorrect name, suffix (not jpg or tif etc) or size. Note all its data, where it is etc
Reboot Windows in safe mode. Navigate to where it is then you should be able to delete it.
Reboot again normally and see if you can re-install from yuor back up.

I do think the suggestion of using collections is a better idea than stacking a 'photoshoot', but then I am not a big fan of stacking, IMHO it seems to be 'hiding' some shots, that need to be unstacked to examine or work with.
The advantage with collections is you can 'name' the collection with details of the shoot. using date or location. Similarly you can tag independently.

One other odd and annoying aspect of stacking is that it changes the image count at the bottom of the screen. This is only a small problem, but I almost had a heart attack a day or 2 after stacking some photos when I went back into the organizer (not remembering or connecting it to the stacking) and there were 3-400 photos "missing" from the collection. It counts a stack of images as one "item"! How bizarre. (PS: I had a backup but you know the feeling!)
