Using brust to select

This is my last question for now. This forum is great. When I select a person or a section with the brush and all the marching ants come up I had wanted to smooth or feather the section. A warning comes up "No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible" What does this mean?

I am going to get Scott Kelby's book but it does not seem to be available in Canada yet. I do need a lot of help. Thanks.

This message usually occurs when the selection is too small for the amount of feathering you are trying to apply. Lower the feather and try again.

Make sure the layer you are using the brush to select with is active as well.
