Although I was not really intending to install Elements 4 on the poorly old computer I have at present I did put the disc in the drive in order to read the PDF manual which is said to have more content than the book manual supplied with Elements 4 .
Of course it attempted to auto run then came the message..
The Setup.EXE file is linked to missing export kernel 32DLL:
Get user default UI language.
So if I wanted to install on my existing machine I am out of luck.
I don't know where I could retrieve the missing Kernel 32 DLL from. Have no idea what the message about default user laguage is about either... Any clues anyone.....
A while back I did try repairing windows from the windows disc supplied but that made no difference to the health of my frequently crashing operating system...

Update...I first failed to notice on the box specifying system requirements that Elements 4 requires versions of windows XP only. No mention of window 98SE which my present old sytem has. So that must be the reason the auto install failed.....
Still I can drool over the PDF manual until I obtain a new computer. First glance is a can't wait to start playing with all those filter options and everything else for that matter.....

Hi Malcolm ...
Oh what a shame ... :(
Still hopefully it won't be too long before you get that new computer ...

Ordered new machine today along with a new printer.
It will be a couple of week before the computer arrives the printer could be tomorrow.
Getting the jitters a bit now as the new stuff is more advanced than the old system I have at present. Got a few learning curves to overcome over the coming weeks.....

New kit just arrived. Still in the boxes. I think I'll leave them on the kitchen floor for a couple of weeks while I compose myself.:D
If I don't post within 6 months call out the emergency services.:D

Malcolm ...
If you don't post within a week I guess I will just have to pop round and see where you are :)
Oh ... that is exciting, I bet you are into the boxes within an hour ....
Do let us know how you go on ...and Good Luck :)

Hi wendy. Phew..I am sweating blood.:D So far so far. No problem with the printer software this time. Internet connection software failed to install correctly and I could not connect until now. Been on the phone for about an hour to sort it....At last all seems ok...Elements not yet installed yet though..Regards. malcom.

Elememts installed seemingly ok. Only had a brief glance to see how different it is to photoshop LE.
Quick question is there a way of turning off the "auto colour correction" in the enhance menu option . In other words is there an option to adjust colour balance using the usual red, green and blue sliders!!!
