I have been having problems with Redeye removal in PSE4 and want to use an outside editor that works better at removing redeye. I added ACDSee photo editor 3.1 to the editors in PSE4 but it is really a long and involved prosess to use it. Does anyone know a simpler way to use an outside editor from within PSE4?
Thanks.

try red-eye removal the "old-fashioned way" first - tutorial here (http://www.graficalicus.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=125)| video here (http://www.graficalicus.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=9), but here's the gist:
make a new layer
make your foreground color black by pressingn <D> on your keyboard
use a soft edged round brush roughly the same size as the pupil (press the bracket keys on your keyboard - [ & ] - to resize on the fly)
dab in the black over the red parts
change the blend mode of this layer "black dots" layer to Hue
adjust the opacity down to suit the image -
a whole lot cheaper than buying a new program - -
For setting up an xternal editor from PSE, I really don't know - I don't think it can easily be done. Numerous other apps allow you to set up external editors, so maybe you could go the other way and set PSE up from a different one?

If you are using Organizer, you can go to Preferences and then Edit and put in the address for your external editing software and then when you want to edit with it you just select photo in Organizer, then select Edit (icon or menu) and select "Edit with external", it will then open in that software. I don't know how to do an external edit within PS Editor.

I have tried that and it shows the image with the red bar across it and it says "edit in progress" but the editor doesn't open and the only option is to finish the edit. I don't know why the external editor will not open so I can edit the image.
