I normally use RSE2006 to do RAW conversion. But I noticed that if I open an RAW image in PSE4 it is way too light and the colors are off. If I convert and then import it seem fine.
What am I doing wrong?

PSE is a colour managed application. Did you calibrate your CRT monitor with Adobe Gamma? If not, you should (Control Pannel applet).
If you have an LCD, things are different. Don't use Adobe Gamma, you'll get poor result, most likely.

Would RES2006 attach a colour profile to your image? My colour management is set to Allows me to choose, so if an image has no colour profile, I can see if adding one does more harm then otherwise.
