Downloading layers patterns & brush sets

hi,

I have a lot of zip files on my desktop to unzip and load. Some of these are from the subscriber area. I know where to put the brush sets, I assume they have some sort of identity attached to them so I will be able to find then.
Is there anyones in the subscriber area that are must haves.

Layers will go in the layers area of PSE4, right. Patterns are those just jpeg and where do I put them. I have Jod's frames also where do they go.

If I am downlaoding pictures for a workflow class I just put them all in a folder with the class name; am I on the right trach there.


One more question..Actions are those for web pages?

Hi Vesta ...

Go into your Elements folder and look inn the folder marked Presets ... you will see lots of folders in there.

Most downloads go in one or the other of these folders ... but if you are not sure if you are putting something into the correct folder then just check the file ending and make sure that they are the same as the ones already in there.

Patterns ... go in the Patterns folder
Jodi's Frames are Layers Styles ... they go in the Layer Styles folder

When you download images (like the class ones) you can keep those anythere you like on your hard disk ... just make sure that you can find them again :)

Actions are not to do with web pages. Actions are rather like mini software programs but you have to ensure that they are written for Elements ... don't try using the Photoshop ones :)

yes it does help so much Wendy .

I downloaded Grant toolf or PSE4 and found them did the empty cache thing.

I haven't unipped the panos files yet that you found for us; Do I just make a folder and put them all in itflowing the instructions I found here from you and others. I still have the dream setup from the extras on this site on my desktop; is that for PSE4

Gafflicous downloads.. do instructions come with them?

So most of the time I will find a file name or extensions that will tell me where to place them.

What kind of files need the caches deleted after installing like Grant's/

Vesta ...

Things that are to be installed in the Previews Folder under Effect or Filters need the cache deleting ... but nothing else.

Panos' Actions install just like Grant's .. when you unzip the folder the instructions will be there.

Just one note of caution ... don't install too many things or you will slow things down. Its better to install one thing, learn how to use it and then install another :)
