Are there any video tutorials around for removing background objects in PSE3/4? Specifically I have people, poles, cars, etc. that I would like to get rid of.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry,

The preferred technique will depend on the individual photo... a plain background can be handled differently than a busy background.

Can you post a copy of your image somewhere, and describe more specifically what you are attempting?

Here are 3 examples of photos I'm trying to remove background "noise" from.

Click here (http://field4kids.smugmug.com/gallery/1473670/) for sample photos.

Picture # 1
Remove people on the left, cars on the right, purse on the ground (right side) and booklet (left side).

Picture # 2
Trying to remove people on left, center and right. Remove rail on right also.

Picture # 3
Remove people and pole on left and person in center.

...and what would you like to have in the holes created by removing those things? Do you want to clone the "nice" background to make it appear that no one else was around, or do you want to insert a new background, entirely?

I'm just looking to "clone" the background from the surrounding area so it appears nothing was actually back there in the photo.

Larry,

The things on the ground and in the sky are relatively easy to deal with.

The background people and cars will be relatively tough, if you want to make it look like a blank wall, and an empty parking lot.

You might consider a closer crop and a de-emphasis on the distractions.
