I'm trying hard.......please bear with me.
I've gotten this far, but would like to add color behind the image now. I'm not certain how to do that.
I'll try to answer questions along the way as best I can........*S*.

make a new layer, drag it underneath the image layer in your layers palette, and fill it with the color of your choice - presto!

Hi there. what you need to do is to make a layer beneath your current layer. To do that hold down the ctrl button and then click new layer and it should be underneath your current layer. Once you have a new layer below you can fill it with a color or a gradient.

Presto.......hahahaha.
You're dealing with the challenged here.
I understand how to make the new layer, and to drag it below. I can choose a color, but I don't understand how to make it take affect. Will the color I choose show in my new layer?

Mary ... Just save it as a psd file.
Do File>Save As then choose the format of Photoshop from the drop down box. Its the top option :)

Saving that way will allow me to go back and edit it again later??
Looking at it, it still looks incomplete, thinking a frame would help.

Is there any particular place I should save this file?
Is it just a personal preference, or matter of organization?
Thanks so much for the help, I'm feeling a bit of success here.

Hi Mary ...
You really can save it anywhere you like ... just as long as you remember where you put it :)

Mary, what a delightful photo of the young man. Is he on a merry-go-round?
