I am trying to save pics in a slide show format (pdf) to DVD, when I try to go back and view the DVD nothing is there, I am not getting an error message. I use the Create fxn, then simple slide show, then Save. But it's not working, what am I doing wrong?

You can't burn DVD's using Elements, you need a program like Premier Elements. The Simple Slide Show function creates a pdf file that is saved on your hard drive, which you can copy to CD - but it will still be a pdf file.
PE3 will create a VCD for Custom Slide Shows.
Has this answered your question?

Mike,
Thanks for the reply. If I understand you correctly, I CAN burn a slide show to a CD and view or give to someone, right? And where would I get premier elements to burn to a DVD, is it worth it?
Thanks,
tct

tct,
Yes, you can burn a slide show to CD to view or give to someone in PE3 - but you have to create a Custom Slide Show and the output will be a VCD.
A word of caution though, VCD is at best the same quality as VHS tape and significantly inferior quality to DVD...
You can create some great slide shows using stills in Premiere Elements, here is an example by Tami Fry, who hosts the Premiere Elements part of the Forum:

Whether it is worth it depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you want to share slide shows for people to view on TV using their DVD players then I would say so... VCD won't give you the quality.
If you are sharing slide shows to be viewed on a PC, then just save the slide show as a wmv file and copy it to cd...

What program should play that slide show? I have tried several times and each time Real player comes up and says it needs an update to play and then says it is unable to play. The file has a php extension - do I have it associated with the wrong player?
Thanks for all your help!!

Mary,
To play VCDs you really need software that plays DVDs like WinDVD or PowerDVD. If you don't have a DVD drive on your PC, there is a workround to get VCD to play in Windows Media Player - but it's a bit messy. Follow the posts in this link:

If you are planning to view your slide shows on a PC, I wouldn't bother with VCD - just save the show as a wmv (Windows Media Player) file.

Sorry Mike I should have been more specific. I can't view the sample that was put up for the slide shows created in the PSE Premier http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/premiere_stills.php
I have sent a private message to her and I am waiting to hear back.
Did it play ok for you?

Mary,
Sorry   ....
Yes, it played ok for me. If you click the link it should open straightaway in Quick Time...
Go into Real Player preferences and check what file types / media are set..
