Can you pull an exisiting slide show that was made in Elements 4 into Premiere Elements 2? And then further edit it?
Also how do I get the pictures in the slide show I am attempting to create in Premiere to all have the same amount of time given to them? And.....the pictures keep multiplying?
Then there are those dark gray sections I keep having to delete, they also seem to multiply. I hope This program is not too hard for me to use.

I am still exploring, but the following may address some of your current questions:
(1) Yes, you can create a Slideshow in Elements and then export it as a .wmv to Premiere Elements 2.0. The Help Sections of both programs and the available videos/tutorials are full of how tos.

(2) Editing the Slideshow exported from Elements to Premiere Elements has its definitions for the editing limitations....for example...
Under Premiere Elements Help/Index/Editor/Defined it reads "Create a slide show in Photoshop Elements with captions, transitions, effects, music, narration, graphics, and titles, and then bring the slide show into Adobe Premiere Elements for further editing. Or, after bringing photos into Adobe Premiere Elements, create the slideshow there.

Here is the catch...on page 227 of the manual that comes with the software it says Adobe Premiere Elements uses the settings that you establish for your Slideshows created in Elements. But you cannot edit these transitions and durations once you export the slide show to Adobe Premiere Elements.

It would appear that, even though you cannot modify (subtract), you can add transitions, effects graphics, etc. once in Premiere Elements 2.0. The Premiere Elements 2.0 manual refers you to the Elements 4.0 Help for more information.

Going to Help sections of Elements and Premiere Elements, the tutorials, videos and such should help you also resolve the other issues that you mentioned.

this answer is a little different than your question, but it may help.

if you create a collection in elements 4.0 and then select all the images and use file->send to premeire, it will insert all the images with the same time duration (you can set it) and transition effect (you can set it, too). That's not the same as creating a slide show in Elements and moving it to Premeire, but it is a way to get an ordered set of images inserted to Premeire with the same duration and transition for each one.

Eric Schurr,

Thank you for that helpful tip involving the Collections/ordering route.
