Congratulations Jodi and to all entries. I gotta tell you, it was VERY difficult to judge this contest. Faced with a series of great looking images (and no names), it was definitely a challenge to narrow it down to one winner.
Great job everyone!

I can't believe it ... and I am just so delighted :).

Jodi's entry is so totally amazing and I love the colours that Trisha has introduced to the image. There really are some excellent images and I am so pleased to be among the winners.

Thank you so so much :)

How interesting to see all those great entries! Now I'm hooked. When's the next challenge? I can't wait to do it again. I had such fun and learned so much in the process of creating my entry. And I'm pleased as punch with "honorable mention." The three winners were all awesome. Thanks for a forum like this where we can learn and grow and have fun.

My imagination had sort of gone away with age and work but I must say that those images have inspired me to take a second look at things in my world and what I can do with them. I love all the stuff. Gave me a few ideas and got me thinking creatively again.

Good news! Everyone, whether they're a subscriber or not, can see all the entries. You asked for it after the last challenge, and you got it! Just click on the link -- you'll find it on the home page, or on the subscriber page. They both link to the winners!

Thanks Jan, that's great to hear we get to see the entries! But I can't find the link except to the subscriber area.

Jodi, I was just reading the other forum and saw the pix, they're great!
I did click on the home button, and I found the "can you collage" and "Click here" to see the winners. But they both go to a place that asks for your subscription code. (Maybe I'm just stoopid.)

Jodi Frye
March 19th, 2005, 09:20 PM
no, I'm looking here too...i guess the others on the other forum can't get to them either...I'm going to go look again...

Jodi Frye

well, it is the only link I see on the homepage so I guess it's still not ready.

Wendy,
Didn't mean to ignore your question. I was just out of the house most of the day today, enjoying a Saturday with hubby and friends. Anyway - you asked about the butterfly. I used Distort/Shear, and played with it to get the shape I wanted to make the butterfly appear to "squeeze" out of the bottle.

I think this is a good idea and I suspect it will gain more subscribers than you will loose by this move. To see how talented the people who are on this forum can only be a plus.

Linda,

You did an excellent job with the Butterfly it really does look as though it has squeezed out of the bottle ... Shear isn't something I have used much but after seeing the results you achieved I will take another look at it. Thanks for sharing how you did it .... :)

and to all other contestants. I love all the images and it would have taken me long time to judge them. I like the way judges to give comments it help me to see what they like about each images.

I'm a non-subscriber and I have seen all that amazing entries.Congratulations to all winners. I thought after 2 years PSE2.0 and 1/2 year PSE3.0 I did know something about working with photoshop but now I see I'm just a beginner.

Tricia,

How did you put the keys on your background? ... that was a really neat touch.

Betty,

I learn a lot from looking at other people work and if I see something I don't know how to do I usually ask how did they did it. Most people share their techniques and its a great way to learn :) ...

I have learned so much just by asking :)

Hi Wendy,

I just reduced the opacity of the key way down, 10% I think, but I don't remember, I know it was really low. Then, I just turned them all directions and put them on the background. I liked the effect, very subtle.

Tricia :)

I just got hooked up to DSL today and I am a happy camper.

The challenges look fun! Congrats again.

Hey thanks ! Congradulations on the DSL..ya I finally did it last summer....turns out I'm spending less having max DSL than having dial-up with Call wave. My Phone Co. Had a package deal...kicked myself for not switchin' sooner ! Anyways, will be looking forward to seeing your work !

The challenge I think is a fantastic way to show us newbies what can be donw with photoshop. Sometimes when you are learning something you just can't think of all the possibilities. Not only that but it's great to see all the different ideas that people come up with. It really forces you to use your imagination. I spend far too much time doing decorative painting out of books and using other people's designs and it's really something that I need to get away from. Perhaps this will help get the creative juices flowing.

One comment though. It would be nice to see all the original pictures from the design challenge so that people coming into the challenge late (or with a bad memory) can see what the artists had to work with. I also think it's a great feature to have for all to see not just members as it would really entice new members. This forum is fantastic and I could spend far too much time on here gaining information and not doing anything else!!

I agree.........problem is I have been spending way to much time reading and watching videos and not enough time DOING! LOL I am going to have to structure myself more. It is threatening rain today so after walking the dog, it is on to painting. I have an order to complete. THEN......computer time!!

I arrived home today after work to find a package with my Elements T-shirt -- the prize for honorable mention in the last contest! Yahoo! How fun! Thank you so much for the cool shirt. Can't wait for the next challenge. I encourage everyone to try the next one. I learned so much in working on my entry.
