Automatically Set Scene Markers when doing Slideshow (.jpg photos) in 2.0

I purchased Premiere Elements 2.0 recently and have come across a problem that I am not sure if it is based on defective software, difference between 1.0 and 2.0, or something else. Anyone out there with 2.0, please let me know if you tried this and if and how you got the following to work.

I am trying to duplicate the videos on making the Slideshow and DVD Burn (this Web site)...OK going through the Slideshow prep, but DVD Burn is the one where I get into the scene marker issue:
Automatically Set Scene Markers
Select "at each Scene"
(the video specifically says that with still photos...I have six .jpg photos like the video...each photo is considered a scene)
OK
Instead of 6 scene buttons in Scene Selection Menu I have one...Timeline shows only one at the beginning of the Timeline.

I have done a lot of homework here...the tutorials I find all seem to show what was done in these videos...it is difficult to tell if they are using 1.0 or 2.0 (I suspect 1.0). In the paperbound Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 book that comes with the software (page 184) there is a note: "Adobe Premiere Elements places only one scene marker at the beginning of any series of still images in the Timeline". That did not make any sense to me in view of this Web site's videos.

But, then again, all sorts of puzzlements show up...not sure why. In Adobe Press Elements 4.0/Premiere Elements 2.0 combo book, there is one part where it tells you that it is good practice to use "Test Media Before Burning", but neglects to mention where. Only Rescan remains in that 2.0 Burn Dialog.."Test Media Before Burning" is no longer there.

Please advise. Thank you.

ATR, I have read your post twice and still cannot figure out what your problem really is. Could you please be more detailed about your specific problem?

You may want to check out a few sites that will most likely help you also.

Chuck Engels,

Thanks for responding to my post.

I have sent you a Private Message with more details of the details.

Hope you can help me know what is happening with the feature in questions...automatically set scene markers for slideshows.

Thanks for the message, this problem must be a bug in the program. I cannot get the scene markers to generate by scene either for still images. The other two options work fine so you can use one of them and then make adjustments to the marker location. One thing I did notice was that the 1st option works for video clips, just not still images.
