I wanted to introduce myself to the forum members, and say "Hello". I am sure that I will be checking in here a lot in the future. I have PSE3 on my computer, subscribe to Elements and just purchased and have started reading "The Photoshop Elements 3 Book for digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby. My camera is an Olympus C-750 ultra zoom, which I am still in learning mode on, and I have over four years of 35mm slides that I took while in the military, that are starting to show their age from poor storage, that I want to get scanned and converted to digital format. I know that I have my work cut out for myself, but hopefully I have picked the right software and forum for help to get me through it!

Hi SAM
Welcome to the Forum - great to have you on board :)
You have chosen the right software and most definitely the best website there is on Elements.
The Forums are a great place to share problems and ideas, get help, make suggestions, help others and above all learn how to get the most of out Elements.
The website is packed with excellent resources such as video and web tutorials, downloads, tips and articles. I recommend that you consider subscribing to Photoshop Elements Techniques, which will get you 8 issues per year of the PET magazine and access to the subscriber area - where there are more tutorials, downloads, competitions etc.
One of the reasons I bought PE3 is also to blow the dust off a very large collection of 35mm slides...

Hi Sam,
I too went digital about 3 years ago - just wasn't using the 35mm and tired of taking photo's to drug store and often their chemicals weren't all that good.
By the way, you and I are using almost the same camera. Mine is the 740UZ. Trying to decide if I want to get their 8mp5x for better resolution or wait and see if they come up with a higher res on the UZ. I love the Olympus camera and get really good shots with it.

hi Sam,
Welcome to the forum ... there are lots of tutorials and tips here so don't forget to browse around.
I too have lots of slides that are showing their age ... in fact so many that I decided to only restore the good ones and the special ones. They were quite badly aged and it would have taken forever to restore them all but I did scan them all in so that if at some time in the future I do want to restore a few more then I will be able to do so ... and of course they wont be in any worse condition :)

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome! I have been looking around and finding a lot of answers to questions already.
I think that a lot of my questions will have been answered and all I will have to do is learn how to use the "Search" to find a lot of my answers quickly.
Again, Thanks for the Welcome!

Something that I do with my computer for medical research. I hope that you have the time and interest to follow the link that MikeH provided and at least read up on it. I "Fold" with Team Abit, who are a bunch of folks around the world that build their own computers using Motherboards produced by Abit.
That is however not a prereq for membership, they are a bunch of good guys and will make anyone welcome that wants to contribute to the cause, no matter what brand of equipment that they own.
