Is there any way to import more fonts into PSE? I have the Free and Easy Font Viewer and want the Monotype Corsiva font. Apparently my daughter found a font in word called zapfchancey that matches this font but it doesn't appear to be available in PSE. Can one add to the font library?

Pat,
You can add fonts ... but I can't remember if you are a Windows user or a Mac user.
Mac users just drop them on the desk top, click on Font Book then add from there ... if you are using Windows then hopefully Jodi will be along soon :)
Now Jodi did give me a link to a good font site a while back ... they have lots of fonts:
http://www.eknp.com/fonts/a1.php
(I have just realised that you mentioned Free and Easy Font Viewer so you must be using Windows)

Pat,
To add fonts in Windows...
Most fonts are downloaded as zip files. All you need to do is unzip the file to C:\Windows\Fonts
Windows will install them automatically.

Mike,
I am totally inept when it comes to how computers and programs interact and run. Is there a specific file I should unzip to so that the font appears in the PSE font window?

Pat,
Windows XP will unzip the file for you :)
Download the file to your PC, say into My Documents. Zipped files have an icon that looks like a folder with (guess what) a zip on it...
 Find the file using Windows Explorer.
 Right click the file and select "Extract All". This will bring up the Extraction Wizard.
 Press Next at the first screen.
 At the next screen (Select a destination) press Delete to clear the "Files will be extracted to this directory" box. In here enter C:\WINDOWS\Fonts and then select Next. (Note: If you are unzipping a different type of file any time in future just use the Browse button to select the location for the file).
 Windows will then extract the file and install it.
 Select Finish to close the Wizard.
 If you have the "Show extracted files" box ticked the Fonts folder will open and you will see the file you installed listed along with all of the other fonts on your PC.
The font will be available to all programs on your PC that use fonts, not just PE3.

I seem to be having one h -- of a time today. I am trying to find a font called Monotype Corsiva. It is on my computer in Word and it is on my computer in Print Shop. It is NOT in PE3 and I want it there. I cannot seem to find it online. Is there possibly a way to take it from word and put in into PE so it is accessable there? I couldn't find it in Free and Easy fonts on their web page. What am I doing wrong?

Pat,
If this font is on your PC but not in PE3 then it must be located in a different folder than Windows > Fonts - which its where it needs to be. Any font in the Windows > Font folder should be available to all programs.
Monotype Corsiva is available in different formats. It may not be a True Type font, which is the standard...
Have you searched using Find Files & Folders option?
Have you opened the Windows > Font folder in Explorer and listed the contents to see if it there?
I found Monotype Corsiva on line at a few sites including dafont.com, but it's listed as commercial so you have to buy it ($22!):

Mike,
I'll try to locate the thing through files and folders but if I find it, how do I get it into PE? I know it is in Print Shop and I know it is in Windows because I can see it in both font listings but it is NOT in PE. Not sure how to proceed here.

Dont try too hard. Not all my fonts show up in Elements either ( a couple wont )...has to do with the typeface. There are always alternative fonts that look the same but under a different name that will work. I get my free fonts from here;

Mike,
The font is in the Windows font folder. It is a true type (or so it indicates).
Jodi,
That is interesting. I still want the font in PE. The advantage of the free font viewer is to pick a font you like but then I apparently have to go back and forth to PE to see if it is there. What a drag. Wonder why they won't go to PE. My husband (a computer person) is going to try to see what is going on. I am just trying to do this thing as close to what my daughter wants as possible and it is turning into a time consuming nightmare.

OK everyone. Thanks for all the help and input. Learned a lot today and 2 important things.
1) Monotype Corsica is in PSE. It is under the C's - duh!!! I was looking under M.
2) If numbers lock is on even the enter on the keyboard will not work when using the type tool. De-activating it made it so I could type several lines on one layer.
Jodi was right about making all the lines different layers so I can move them around and center them.
Brought out one of my books called Top 100 simplified tips and tricks. It is a PE2 book but showed me how to apply the chrome/color/etc.
Thanks again. Hope I can finish this thing now.

Yes, well I finished the thing. Hope she likes it. I did the type in Chrome. By the way, I downloaded the Chrome stuff from the subscriber site but I don't know where it went. It isn't showing up in PE on the styles and effects pallet. Maybe it unzipped somewhere else although the target folder was in elements somewhere.
