View Full Version : Snaps to grid by itself

OK - I know there have been several threads about this but was there ever a solution? I have unchecked "snap to grid" but the pink bar across the center portion of this scrapbook page had a mind of its own and would not just go to the edge of the black frame. It insists that it needs to overlap it a bit. Without redoing the entire layer system of the picture (I've been working on it for HOURS so I do not want to redo the layers) how can I get the small overlapping part to be black and not pink?

Andie,

I may not be remembering correctly, but I seem to think that holding the CTRL key will override the snappiness.

Short of that, you could try creating a new layer with black bits to cover up the extended ends of the pink bar...

Andie,

How have you created the black border? Is it a case of putting the border at the top of the layers palette?

The border is a black background layer that is underneath the pink layer and on top of the white layer.

Ok... if you move the black border layer to be on top of the pink layer, it should hide the overlapping part of the pink band.

That didn't work - it covered the whole pink layer which I want to have as a "mat". I'm thinking I could lasso the offending part and change the color?

I fixed it by painting it and here it is:

(I'd still like to figure out how to avoid the issue in the first place.)

BTW - this is my first fim strip attempt. I am a perfectionist but luckily - since this is for a scrapbook, I'm not going to worry too much about the wavy edge of the shadow!
