I go stuck on this one pretty quick. I just made my selection, Ctrl J and renamed my background layer. I am unable to link the two together. The Link incon is not active and I don't have the little widows next to my "EYE" (the one you click on and off to turn the layer off and on???) like in the video. Any suggestions what I did wrong. I can give a pic of my layers palatte, but don't know how to do that.

Thanks
Brent

Hi Brent ...

You haven't done anything wrong. Its just that you are using PSE4 and the Video shows PSE3 ... hopefully one of the PSE4 users will be able to tell you how to link them ...

I do have PSE4 but I haven't installed it yet ... as it only arrived this morning :)

Hello again Brent:

Funny you should have this problem right now. I have my daughter and future son in laws engagement pic on my PSE4 right now.

Do you have both layers that you want to link highlighted (shift or ctrl click....not sure which one right this second) When they are both highlighted in blue you can link them.;)

Brent:

It's shift click. Just checked.

Thanks Colleen ...

I wasn't sure what they had changed it to ... in the full version of Photoshop on the Mac both Shift click and Control Click work :)
