I'm totally flummoxed by the terms 'Date Created' & 'Date Modified' in the metadata for my pictures.
The very first three pictures I took on my digital camera were on July 7th 2005. This is the 'Date Created', but then under 'Date Modified' it says January 1st 1980 and consequently, the pictures aren't in my timeline! Did digital cameras exist then? Can somone explain this? And what does 'date modified' mean? I've done nothing to the pictures other than get them from the camera to the computer.
Even more recent pictures have a 'date modified' date of up to several months BEFORE 'date created'. This can be annoying as pictures taken the same time are frequently not together in the organiser.
Any explanation gratefully received.
