:?: Am i the only one to find the drop shadow for text option in Elements3 offering far less control than Elements2. How can I alter the transparency of the shadow element separate from the text itself, this was possible in E2 i'm sure.

Tony, this is possible in full photoshop but to lower the transparency of the shadows in Elements you'll need to do a little work around...but it wont allow you to keep the text vector>>>> first control click the text layer so that there are marching ants around each letter>select inverse>simplify..then select the eraser tool...soft large, very low opacity and gently erase the shadow so that it's not so dark.

You can also check out this thread where you can create your own with more control over the shadow;

Jodi,
I much prefer that way of doing a drop shadow ... you have so much more control and it is so flexible. Since I first saw the tip on how to do it I have rarely used any other way :)

Wendy, ya, the styles work well on simple projects but the DIY way is definitely more appealing for more intense projects.
