I am logged on automatically here at work to the subscriber site BUT at home I have new computer so will not be logged in. It is going to ask me for a "code number" which I doubt I still have. How do I find out that code number for my new computer to get on this site. WHY is my username and password not sufficient? I wish the Homeland Security was as tough as this.

Sandie, you no longer have the code # ? You didn't write it down ? Naughty Naughty ;)

I suspect you'll have to email the editors for it.

why in God's name would I write down the code that I first got to get on "subscibers only" site???? I am telling you these people should be running Homeland Security for the US.
What a pain. Maybe it will recognize my email address and I will not have to go through getting a new number etc.

Sandie,

A lot of sites are password only nowadays .... but usually the cookies on your PC keep the password automatically running but its still always better to have a note of them in case you change your PC or a crash etc etc...

I would try emailing the site for your password

I write down all my passwords, user ID's etc. just in case I get a new computer and need to update all my favorites. Or as recently happened to me my hard drive crashed and I got to reload ALL of my favorites.

Same thing happened to me a little while back and I was so glad that I had recorded all my user names and passwords .... :)

One thing I had missed was keeping a backup copy of my bookmarks and that was a pain ... so now I back them up on a regular basis too :)

The thing is, if people clean out there cookies periodically like they are suppose to ;) those sticky password pages get wiped clean as well. Writing down pw's is definietly the way to go. I have a notebook that I write 'all' my pw's and serial #'s in...AND I keep it hidden ! ( kids )

I called and they were very nice and gave me the number I needed.
I do write down my passwords and usernames but did not write the code since I thought it was a one time deal of use the code and then from then on it would be UN and PW but no. I am serious, if Homeland Security paid as much attention as these people do I would feel a whole lot safer these days.
Went on a plane and when I got to my destination and opened my cosmetic bag(which I had not looked in for a year or so) it had a good sized scissors in it and that was in my backpack. OH WELL.
