Hello again!

I'm shooting sports action shots (little league). I want to print some 5x7 and 8x10 with nice frames. I don't want to have to make a frame on each individual picture seperately......

Can I:
1)Make a frame on the appropriate canvas size (8x10)
2)insert a pic into the frame
3)adjust the size of the pic to fit the frame
4)print

This may sound like a silly question but please be patient with me.... I'm still learning.
I ask this because I want to frame large batches of pics for printing and it would be lots of work to build a frame for each individual pic. I'd like to spend a couple of hours making 3-4 nice frame variations, save them and just drag a picture into whatever frame I want to use with each pic.

Another option would be to buy an "action" type of plug in to automate framing....
I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks in advance
Donald

Hi Donald ...

It really depends on what sort of frames you want as to how you can do it ... but it certainly is possible to make a series of frames and then simply add photos to them.

Take a look through some of the Galleries and see if you can find some frames that you like then we will see what we can come up with :).

Another thought is take a look a Jodi's frames ... go the the sunbscriber area then go to Downloads nd you will see some of her frames. If thats the sort of thing you want then she does have a CD with a lot more of them on it :)

Thanks Wendy,
Jodi's frames don't seem to be available at this time....

What I've got in mind is something similar to what Beatrice has created for soccer photos...

I'd like to make a frame for each team in 5x7 (to begin)....
I want to get the frame set up so that I can drag a pic into it and save it to disc ready to print.

I've got Kelby's book, and I've read and viewed tutorials, but I don't see anything that begins with a specific print size and works from that angle. It appears that the tutorials all start with the pic and work out from there.

I hope that I'm making sense....
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Donald

Hi Donald ...

One way of doing a frame like that is to create a new image (the size you want for your images plus the frame size) then fill a new layer with colour. Set the rectangular marquee to the photo size and then drag it out on the screen. When it looks OK do Edit>Clear and there you have your basic frame. Just add a bevel to the frame then your text and some clip art to finish it off.

Now all you need to do is add photos below the frame ... :)
