 I want to watermark my pictures and I tried to convert them as bitmap thinking that by doing so it would be good; however, when I saved a picture as .bmp it really didn't do anything to the picture. So, I am trying to embed a watermarc wirh the digimarc option, I figure this would do the trick. BUT I am having a little problem with it. I already followed the steps from digimarc's website about the plug-ins & so forth: "Once the plug-in files are copied into the Digimarc folder open Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0, open an image and attempt to watermark it. If the watermarking plug-in pops up, you're ready to go" and according to the site I should be able to do the watermark.

BUT after doing all that, emptying the folder and installing the plug-ins, etc. a page pops up: subscription, embed now, learn more. When I click embed now it's asking me for ID and a PIN BUT according to digimarc this should be included with the PSE 4.0 it's suppossed to be a FREE plug in! :(

Does any one know about this? am I doing something wrong? or plain & simple I have to invest in a software to watemark my pictures?

Thank you in advance so very much for any help! ;)

You could try the following...

Make a new document, the same PPI as your images.
Using the text tool, create your text, "Copyright 2006" or whatever.
Save it as a PSD file.

Open your image you want the watermark on.
Copy the text from the Copyright file. You can drag/resize it, position it where you want.
Then, choose "Emboss Clear Text" from the Effects palet. I can't remember exactly where it is, but it's there.

:p :) Hello to all!

Thanks Trish!

Didn't try that, I just figured out what I needed to do, it seems a bit complicated but once you get it it's actually quite simple. I imported my text from another program, can't quite get used to the PSE4, so I saved my text as .bmp opened my picture, clicked the digimarc, embed picture, AND YES must clicked try it now, from here choose what is wanted, and in the SETTINGS I browse for my .bmp file (changed this file in color or wherever I wanted) and then choose the location, center, right, left, etc...and embed......I got it, so happy :) :p
