I need to know how to combine 2 photos together. I have a image and a background I would like to use with the image. I have been told to resize the background to the size of the image and drag the image not the box onto the background and use the eraser tool so the background with come through. I understand the eraser tood I use it often. Each time I try to resize the background the numbers will not stay what I resize it to. I bought a cd set with all these diffrent backgrounds because I have not invested in any yet so I thought this would work but no so far. All I can find on the tutorials are about panaromaic combinding them together and the layers do not make sense to me. Anyway I hope someone can help or $30 has gone down the drain. Thanks!!! Kristi

kcphotogirl, I imagine there are several ways but one I've used is to use the marquee tool to copy the portion of the image I wish to lay over a background. Then pullup the background and paste the captured part onto the background photo. This will make the background a locked background layer and open the captured portion in a new layer. You can then mask out the unwanted portions of the layer with the captured portion.. thus revealing the background beneath. Just make sure the captured layer is selected and use the eraser tool to erase the unwanted portions (simplest way but not the best - that is to make a duplicate layer out of the captured part and do the erasing in that duplicate layer, first turning off the 1st copy of the captured layer.. This way if you goof.. you've got the layer for future corrections.)
Hope this Helps, SNcomp

You can simply drag and drop the whole background into your new image then select the move tool, click on the image, do View>Fit on Screen (this will show you the full size of the image even if it is larger than the new image) then click on one of the corner boxes and you will be able to drag the image to resize it.
