I just added our family Easter portrait we do each year. As soon as we come home from church we take a snapshot. This time my house was too messy to use as a background and it was rainy cold outside. So we stepped into the stairwell of our building. I had to edit a new background. The picture posted is not very clear due to rescale and lower rez, but you can see how it turned out. I just printed it and it looks really nice. I think it is the best photo I have of my family yet!
Happy Easter - He is Risen!!

I agree!
And....that is a very nice family portrait! Can't believe it was taken in the stairwell!!!!!! I guess noone needs to think about studio space when you can do that in a stairwell....:D
Nicely done!

Lovely family portrait, Beatrice. Did you have your camera set on a timer or did someone else take the photo for you.

Congratulations, very well done. Extra points as group portraits are often very hard to do.

I used the camera timer. Everyone was starving so I prewarned them to cooperate for the picture or they wont eat LOL. Usually we're fighting with one of the kids over something in order to get a nice photo. This was an easy year though - except for the baby not looking. I only took three shots and two of them did turn out! They were a tad under exposed, but pSE fixed it up just fine.
I should've posted a higher quality tho. When i printed it last night I told my hubby, "Who needs studio lights and backdrops when you got PSE?!!" LOL

Beatrice- You seem to do amazing things with fixing the bad or busy backgrounds of otherwise terrific pictures. Nice job on this one too!

Thanks Kay! I knew I would have to create a backdrop for this photo. I have the render cloud/blur as a clipping mask so I can go back and change it to any other color or design as mood strikes me. I didnt get too fancy with a background pattern since I did it at 10pm last night and needed to get to bed. I will probably add more selections in the future.

Tried a new background. Got some additional tips from a podcast.

You did a fabulous job on that. Very well done. Getting my family together into one shot borders on the impossible. Even if they did - all I would get is the top of their heads as everyone ducks when I grab my camera. That's why I have learned to shoot blind from the the waist.
