Here in the UK I notice that both Elements 3 & 4 are available in stores. Elements 3 more likely to be in stock I find. The price of either 3 or 4 are almost the same.

What I need to decide is which version is good for me. Do I need the new (4) version??? To answer that I would need to know the differences between version 3 & 4 so could anyone give me a link that details the differences between the two versions. Also any oppinion of actual users of both version would be welcome. Regards..malcom.

PS. At this time I am not into movie editing etc so would paying extra for the combined Elements and premier elements software be of any use to me. Are there features in premier Elements that would be useful to have even if video making is not an overiding interest.....Malcom..

Ahhhhh. Sorry.....I have just found the PDF file that details elemnts 4.. Am I right in assuming that all the features mentioned in that PDF article are "NOT" available in the version 3 of Elements...Regards. malcom...

It comes down to simple value for money. If the price is virtually identical PSE 4 IS the better VFM, there are minor (IMHO) problems that others have found with PSE 4 v PSE 3, check these forums to get an idea.

BUT, again only IM very HO, if you have the choice between 3 and 4 I would always go for 4.

I speak from the point of view of someone who uses a pc, not a Mac.

Another consideration would be to check out a Wacom Graphics tablet. I'm not sure about the UK but over here the newest ones have PE3 bundled with them. So for slightly more (or the same on sale) you get PE3 and a tablet to play with.

I know you guys seem to get the short end of the stick, when it comes to Adobe deals and such. I just wasn't sure. It's good to hear this time, it seems like all is the same. :)

Well I have PSE 1,2,3 and 4 and I currently prefer 3 although given a bit more playing around I might be convinced that 4 has some useful features that 3 doesn't. Don't think I could ever go back to 2 - I found the healing tool so useful in fixing up old pictures when I switched but I guess there were other ways to do it in 2 - just never really mastered it at the time.

Thanks folk. Info great. I have located Jessops product wacom tablet at £110 there price for elements 4 is nearly £70 and a three week wait:D

Thanks MikeH for the link to a better price for Elements 4.

My question now is how useful would a Wacom tablet be to me?? I have to admit i am completely ignorant about them as to what I can do with one and if I would need such.. They are computer art drawing devises !!yeah!!! What sort of skill level is required. When it comes to drawing or painting in real terms I am next to useless so would a wacom tablet be a wast of time for me to purchase....

Could anyone give me a brief overview as to the principles and uses of Wacom tablets..... Regards. malcom.

I WAS going to say QVC has it for far less, I know my mother didn't pay more than 40 quid for my PSE 4 in December, BUT I just checked and they are advertsising PSE THREE for 54 quid..... (rip off)

Wendy,

Why am I not surprised you have the full set.......

Over the years (well, I guess it's only about 4, isn't it?), I've had all 4 versions. 1 was a work-in-progress; 2 was a thing of beauty; 3 added some nice features while taking away some of the simple elegance of the GUI; and 4...well, I can't say much about it because when I realized the browser was gone and that the ability to use add-ons like Grant's tools had been intentionally disabled, I closed it and haven't reopened it in months. Interesting path Adobe have taken...

Yep ;)

That said, I sure would have liked for Adobe to publish both versions at the same time. But something tells me it's never gonna happen again, both version will alway be published separately from now on.

I would like bridge if it would actually create a catalog. I like the catalog of offline volumes and can't see Bridge doing that.
