Catalog Backup Issue

I done a full backup of my catalog to an external hard drive. When I try to do an incremental backup it does not give me that option, all I can do is another complete backup. Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas?

I have never been able to make it back up incrementaly either. It is quite a pain! :mad:
