Photoshop 6 vs Elements 3 or 4?

My computer has PS6 and I am, unfortunately, daunted by the cost of buying a later version (can't upgrade). I've been spoiled by taking a class in CS2 and am thrilled with Curves, the healing tool, red eye fix, many wonderful new features. I can afford E3 or E4 - will I be able to accomplish the same things with one of them? Does the Premier issue of E4 offer curves? Would appreciate advice. Many thanks.

If you get PSE3 then you will be able to add on a free tool set that gives you the ability to use curves ... PSE4 you can't use the same sort of add on. Why not try downloading a demo version of PSE4 and see what you think about it :)
