I went out and took a picture of the jets on display the other day. It was overcast, but I figured I wouldnt really incorporate the blue sky anyway. I tried to find a new perspective to these jets than the usual. It was nice to have the US and Japan jet in the image and both tails show the text nicely. I decided to go with the soft, almost b/w image with a bit of color and aged look to it (kinda like that movie with Gwenyth Paltrow...Tomorrow something or other...) And it has the appearance that the jets are taking off of their display stands. I also added a drop shadow around the entire center image to make it stand out a bit. I think this layout is a huge improvement over the night time image. I also had to swap a couple of the outer images so blue/greens werent side by side. The simple border seems like it needs something instead of the side by side - but it doesnt distract as it is.
I do believe this will appeal to the departments (giving a military feel) yet the beauty of Japan is displayed in my pictures too~! Oh, now I have to remember to stamp my name in the corner... do I add the copyright symbol too? I am still not clear on that whole issue (dont you have the "file" something to say that they are copyrighted?) I have read and read things, but nothing in layman's terms to "get it".
Anyway, enough rambling... here is one project I am extremely proud of! I do hope it will bring many fond memories to those that may end up purchasing it. I just printed it off on matte paper 8x10 and its gorgeous!

(I did add a little embossed text on it so it would deter anyone from copying it)
....now holding my breath my hubby likes it as is and everyone else likes it too....
