I understand resizing the photo, but not sure about saving as JPEG.

I am working with my pic (JPEP fine setting on D50) in the editor. I am cropping, editing, ect.... and then saving my file as a JPEG for printing. The default sets the quality to HIGH (#9) and saves it as 1254/221.64 @ 56.6 Kbps.
Is that good for printing pictures?
Is the 1251/221.64 the file size?
What is the @56.6Kbps mean?

Just want to make sure I am saving the files correctly to print qaulity for printing.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Brent....

If you're going to save as a JPEG file then choose the highest quality setting possible if you intend to print the image. I think the value is 12.

The other numbers refer to the File size (1254 Kbytes), how long it would take to send over the Internet (221.64 seconds) and the speed (56.6Kbaud) at which it takes this long.

It's just a guide. You can select other speeds and see how long the transmission would take.

I had a lot of trouble logging back on today, so this is delayed. Thanks for the info. I changed to the 12 setting for printing.

Just to add, if you are intending to publish on the web, youprobably won't want to use the full sized file, I always make two copies for anything I put on my web site or in my gallery. Obviously the restrictions on file size and dimensions for the gallery make it only sensible to do so, but I do find these constraints are pretty good for a web site as well.
