View Full Version : zoom in and view past edge of image

When I zoom in on an image I find it very frustrating that I cannot scroll past the edge of the image. It stays put at the edge of the work area and I cannot scroll beyond that unless I zoom way out again. Is there an option to change this?

You could do it in PSE3 when the Image was in Maximize mode but that had other problems - like the crop tool jumping around when you got close to the edge. It looks like they fixed the problem in PSE4 by not letting you go past the edge.

A case of fix one problem and create another unless someone knows of a way to do it (short of resizing the canvas).

Hi Beatrice ...

Don't know if this will work on PSE4 or not ... but its worth a try:

Zoom in then hold the spacebar down ... the hand tool should come up. Now the question is are you able to use it to scroll ??

Beatrice,
I don't have PSE4 either, but I assume that you have the Navigator: >Window >Navigator. That should do it.

Wendy/Juergen: Both those methods work in PSE3 but not in PSE4. They fixed the flying off the screen PSE3 problem (which no longer bothers me now I'm used to it) by just stopping you from going outside the canvas.

Thanks, Tony. Looks like they'll have to come out with PSE5 pretty soon to correct the problems created in 4 when fixing 3... ;)

They dont work...sigh...looks like I need to make the canvas bigger while I work on this project. It bugs me on other photos too sometimes. Has this been posted on the wish list?
