Well with a collection of idea's from various people I've managed to get a landscape photo split into 4 pictures and printed onto 4 square canvas frames.
Basically I stitched my photo's together and then used Elements to adjust colours etc. I then used a product called Rasterbator to create a raster image. This turns your image into a pdf document with the page sizes you select. I had 4 200x200 canvas frames so used that size page setup. I then printed the four pages onto iron on transfer paper and ironed the prints onto the canvas frames. This isn't easy as I had trouble packing the back of the frame/canvas but I'm pretty pleased with the result.
To finish I've sprayed to image with hairspray but will be getting some laquer at the weekend for a bit more permanent protection.
The rasterbator can be found here:

and I bought 4 canvas frames from here:
http://www.artdiscount.co.uk/
All in I reckon I spent about £20 and have 4 canvas prints to hang together to make one landscape. I found that if you leave a 2inch gap between frames it gives a really nice effect.
Hope some of you find this useful...
