Well with a collection of idea's from various people I've managed to get a landscape photo split into 4 pictures and printed onto 4 square canvas frames.
Basically I stitched my photo's together and then used Elements to adjust colours etc. I then used a product called Rasterbator to create a raster image. This turns your image into a pdf document with the page sizes you select. I had 4 200x200 canvas frames so used that size page setup. I then printed the four pages onto iron on transfer paper and ironed the prints onto the canvas frames. This isn't easy as I had trouble packing the back of the frame/canvas but I'm pretty pleased with the result.
To finish I've sprayed to image with hairspray but will be getting some laquer at the weekend for a bit more permanent protection.

The rasterbator can be found here:

and I bought 4 canvas frames from here:
http://www.artdiscount.co.uk/

All in I reckon I spent about £20 and have 4 canvas prints to hang together to make one landscape. I found that if you leave a 2inch gap between frames it gives a really nice effect.

Hope some of you find this useful...

Oh that sounds really good ... thank you so much for the info.

I would love to see the final result ... if you do get a chance to take a photograph of the whole thing then you can always upload it to Pixentral and post a link to it.

As you can see from close up the pictures don't look amazing, but the effect is great from across a room.

Now I have a question - I had 4 200x200 canvas frames so used that size page setup

Can you translate that size for me? To inches? if it is cms then I think they must be huge?????

That looks great but I can see that I just don't have enough wall space for anything like that :(

I'd really really love to buy an empty warehouse and make a home out of it...like in the movie ' Ghost '...remember ? " space, just space "...Demi says. But I'm not really a city dweller :( Tho, I would change my mind about that if I were near a large park with trails and a pond or something. She's a dreamer...

The frames are 8 inch square so not massive. Sorry about any confusion - I used to be a draughtsman and only work in millimeters!

I am so glad you cleared that up - now I am thinking - I have a printer that will print borderless up to 13 X 19 inches - and I have a panorama of Red Rock Canyon - and I have a blank wall in my new house - and I.......have chores to do because I have weekend company coming. Better turn off my brain and get physical with my vaccuum cleaner!

Thanks you for sharing Phil!

No problem and I'd love to see how your Red Rock Canyon photo comes out when you get chance.

Phil ...

They look great ... I think I may well have a shot at doing something similar.

Thanks so much for all the info and for showing us the end result :)
