I make my photos available for purchase on line through smugmug.

One of the things they suggest to ensure pleasing skin tone is "90% of all you need to know is that you can never let the yellow % fall below magenta % on anyone's skin unless you're trying to show sunburn"

To measure CMYK values in Photoshop they insturct you to use Windows>Info and hovering the eyedropper tool over an appropriate area of skin tone.

I'm working with PSE3. Going to Windows>Info>More>Palette Options allows you to select grayscale, RGB, Web Color and HSB. Is there a way to measure CMYK values in PSE3?

As always, all advice is sought and greatly appreciated!

Hi Donn

Here is a little freeware program I love. Let me know if this will help you.

If you're on a Macintosh, the default Mac OS colour picker, under the slider variant, gives you this information. Click on the magnyfiying glass, select your colour, and the sliders will reveal the CMYK value.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Guys

I am on a PC Ray but I'll look for a similar capability in Windows.

Butch, the Color Pix is really cool. For some reason when I went to open the one from the link I kept getting a 'not a Win32 application' message. I navigated to Download and reloaded it from there. It worked perfectly and I think it will do just what I need.

Thanks again guys!
