Hi,
I hope I am not repeating an old question as I am new to this forum, I did have a quick look for a solution but could not see one. Anyway I have PSE 3 installed on a apple mac computer and every time I start PSE3 I get an error message "Could not open file file://localhost/Library/Application%20Support/Adobe/PhotoshopElementshelp/en_US/cache/57/3.0/en_US/html/recipe/howto.category.html". When I click OK it goes away and everything works fine. It's just annoying and I'd like to fix it. If you know how to make this message go away please respond.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick ..

... and welcome to the forum :)

The part that is failing is the "How to recipes" ... they are simply a series of small help files that show you how to do fairly simple things. Mine worked for a while and then stopped working ... but I don't use the recipes so I just left it.

... you could try a delete of the prefs file .. failing that a reinstall.

To do that close down Elements then click on the start up icon and quickly hold down the Apple, Alt and Shift keys. Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works :)

Wendy,
I tried what you suggested, as in deleting the prefs file (not tried a reinstall yet) no luck there. When PSE 3 opened I still got the error message. Never mind as I said in my original post its more annoying than anything else. Thanks for trying to help, at least I found the forum through this, and I am sure it will be helpful

Hi Mick ...

I have visited quite a few forums but this really is the best one around :) .. if you haven't subscribed yet then that really is worth doing. Not only do you get the bewsletter but you also get access to the Subscriber Area and that is amazing. Last time I counted there were around 100 Video tutorials in there ... and they tend to add new ones to the list each Friday. Its really good :)
