I love the pictures - they are so sweet!
Got a question on how you created your effect. Did you change the canvas size to accommodate the 4 outer pictures. Or, did you make your main photo smaller?

Thanks Norma and Colleen :)
Norma I just created a new layer beneath the background layer and then resized the canvas size by 20% I think. Then I just filled it with white and...... presto ;)

Isn't it funny how we do something and it turns out great, and then we need to add "I think" to it because we are never QUITE sure exactly how we did it???????:)

Absolutely :D
Sometimes I do something and think WOW this is it.......then if I have to think back on how I did it I'm like.....How did I do that? Just part of learning elements I suppose :)

So that's what baby swans are called :) I really couldn't think of the name.....
I thought 'ducklings'.....no, then I thought 'chicks'......no that's not it either :( Thanks Kev for clearing that up for me :)

Thanks Gloria, I spent about half an hour just observing them :) They are just sooooo cute and the parents are really protective so I couldn't get too close. Good thing I have a 12x zoom on my camera ;)

Thanks everyone :)
Yes spring is definitely in the air (even though the air is still cold :( ) I saw two turtle doves mating in our garden yesterday so maybe with a bit of luck I'll be able to take some photos of them when the time arrives :)
The little turtle doves that is ;)

Here is another bit of useless information for everyone. Did you know Western Australia was originally called the Swan River Colony because of all the black swans on the river when the first settlers arrived? Also the black swan has long been a symbol of Western Australia and is irreverently called the "mucky duck"

'The Black Swan' is also the correct name of the favourite pub of the RSC actors after a performance in Stratford, BUT it is always reffered to as 'The Mucky Duck', The pub is better known by this name so much so that the pub sign has a black swan on one side and the other is a mucky AND rather inebriated looking duck on the other.....
Wonder why I remembered that? BTW never have remembered how I got back to my hotel after the 'lock in' I had there with the cast of MSND one time a few years ago......
H77 never try to out trivia him in a Thursday........

Karen everytime I see black swans I still think of Western Australia :) A remnant of my school days on Australian history ;)
I must admit though the first time I saw them in real life was here in Holland.
The moment the weather clears up (its very overcast today) I'm going back for more photos.
