Hi - I'm attaching a photo I was just fooling around with. I did the frame from "Showing Off tut". The last few times I have done this frame the small thin line I do with stroke outline seems to come out as if it is beveled. I have not got any of the bevels highlighted. The stroke is also not a dark thin line which is what I want. My colour is black. Thickness 1 pixel. Any ideas please. Thanks.

Shari,
Do you have the stroke on it's own layer? If so - is there a small circle with a lower case "F" in it? That would indicate there is a layer style applied such as a bevel. Also - is the stroke on the top layer? If it is below other effects you applied that will change the appearance as well.

Shari:

I only have a minute ....dead tired... but I just did one tonight....do you have the color set to black? Also, when you are in the stroke Menu box, are you clicking on inside????? I think that is what you want so it is not beveled, but I am not sure that I am reading your post right....I am very tired...hope I helped, will look at it again the in the morning...

Thank you both. Nancy the stroke is on the same layer as my signature. There is no f. The only layer above is the text layer and that is the way it was on the showing off tut. Colleen - I do have it on black and I am clicking on inside. It is not a big deal - I just don't like it when I can't figure things out and I just remember on the last few photos I have done this kind of a border on - it has not worked. Probably I will be working on something weeks from now and I will do something that will make it clear just what I am doing wrong. There is so much to follow in this programme but things are becoming clearer and I know lots of steps by heart now. Thanks again.

Shari - a longshot but is the opacity at 100%, both for the layer you are doing the stroke on as well as the brush itself ? That happened to me tonight!

Shari, also check if the blending mode is in 'Normal' when you do the stroke outline selection :)

The opacity slider can be a bummer sometimes can't it......I've had that quite a few times and I just couldn't seem to figure it out then I finally saw the opacity slider and ........ well you know the rest :D

Shari try stroking with a larger size 1 pixel is pretty small and you may not see it well untilyou zoom in. Just an idea.
