Hi - I was just down the hall at my friends condo. She is really into photography and does these beautiful superimposed photos on other photos right from her camera. Anyway she got a new Mac and I was telling her that you could just put your picture card into the computer instead of hooking up the camera. We couldn't find a slot. It's the latest IMac with everything in the screen. Is there a place to put your card?? Thanks anyone.
Shari (just a couple of bumbling old ladies here who love photography!!)

Unless you want to download directly from the camera via USB or fire wire then you have to get a USB card reader. They are very inexpesive.

Thank you Grant - another piece of equipment to find space for! But thanks for the info.

A card reader is the way to go. No fuss, no muss and no camera falling on the floor if you trip on the cord. :D :D

Shari-another suggestion would be what I do- I have a USB hub on the computer which sits right to the left of my keyboard. It has two top loading slots, one of which is always occupied by the USB cable from the camera. I just pop the other end into the camera when I need to download pictures from the camera to the computer-no muss, no fuss, and no dangling cords-wich in my case is necessary because I can be a klutz:D.

I have an Epson R300 printer that has a built in card reader. Like Carol said - no muss, no fuss, no drain on batteries either.

One more thing.. Get a card reader labeled either Hi-Speed or USB 2.0. Though you're unlikely to find any USB 1.1 these days, but still, you never know :)
