Hi all. I just finished watching Call For Help TV, and they showed how to create a Photo Gallery Web Page. It appears to be so simple. I don't know if you want me to post the step by step or to let you get started and just follow the questions. If anyone is interested just let me know how you want to learn it.

All right, all right, geez you guys. I just finished watching it on TV and I had a quick look at it before I posted this thread. It appears to be very simple to do. It does exactly the type of web page I was wondering, "how would I ever make something like that"? Heck, it's just point and click. I'm so surprised that Dave or Matt hasn't shown this on a video tutorial. If I had the equipment that Ray has, I'd make one for them :D . I have to call my ISP and find out what my web site is, since I made one but didn't write down the address  . Believe it or not, I used to know HTML way before the software came out for doing it quickly. I made my own website way back just using notepad and writing it out. OK, now I'm dating myself again. Soon as I have my Gallery done with the pictures in my existing gallery, I'll post the address.

OK, the Photoshop stuff is drop dead simple, it's the uploading to your website. That I have to do a little reading (geez I hate reading) on to see how to upload a folder to your website and have it do what you want it to do. It can't be that hard to do  .

Ray, yes I made this page using PSE 3.0. It is so simple, just point and click. If I had kids they could do it :D . I think when I redo it, I'll make it a little smaller. The resolution on my monitor at home is very high and when I looked at it at work with a lower resolution monitor, yikes, a little large. Do mean to say you've got the technology at home to make a tutorial movie? That would be such a gift to the forum users. We'll talk later. Thanks Wendy. I'm happy with it for a first time. I'll get better as I go along.

Ray, we'll be partners on this project. I'll write the script and you do the video & acting. We'll make millions, or we'll just have fun doing it :p . Do you mean to say that you didn't know that Elements allows you to make a Web Page by just clicking on a few buttons? I'll have to figure out how to do it on a Mac that I don't have, but I think I can still remember from Call For Help TV. Kerria and I are going to Calgary this Saturday to Red Lobster. The TV has been advertising them so much lately and I just need a Lobster fix. What I'll do is write you the step by step instructions and then when you're done playing, you can put it to video. How's that sound to you? Hey, I just got promoted to, "Frequent Contributor". I'm not a user anymore.

I probably will never meet anyone on this forum but I like to keep it open that I could. You feel you get to know someone based upon their postings and you can't help but feel hostpitable towards them. BTW, I'm on the States side but I know well of Surrey BC. A local ethnocentric joke goes, "What River seperates India from China?" The answer is The Frasier River (a river through lower BC which seperates a largely Indian/Chinese population.) The fact that we choose to be here and that we share a common interest (and lately I discovered that I had much more common points with certain individuals!!)
However, keep in mind (not to burst your bubble), we come here showing our best. When we feel like killing someone, we usually don't show up. However, in the real world, like it or not, you have to show up at the office even when your mood is else where :)

Carol,
People sharing a hobby or special interest have usually a tendency of being very (if not overly) sympathetic to each other. That's great and makes for a very friendly place to spend time.
Things are totally different when people share a common commercial interest. Have a trip over the Adobe forums for Photoshop CS 2. An ocean of piranha.. :) They're ready to kill each other for the sole pleasure of releasing the pressure and stress of their own job... (that's, actually, their hobby... lol!)

Ray- True, but I also work in the real world ( I haul trash) and meet folk from all walks of life. I can interact with a person who is a multi millionaire and a few minutes later meet a person living on the street. Who's the better person? Depends. But with 17 years of working on the street I feel I can get a pretty good fix on who a person is, whether it it a coworker, a customer or a person online. Am I right all the time? No, but who is? I like to read between the lines and I will take my chance with my personal judgement based on a feel. People on this forum past the test better than people I have physical contact with. I don't extend invitations at random, and I do not greet people with open arms. My wife says I'm a natural cynic and to a degree I agree; I do feel however that observing people's approach to the forum and posts offers no more or no less certainty to their character that a personal exposure can or cannot. Deception can occur with or without personal contact.

Windows users can also use Internet Explorer as an ftp program. You'll need to get some instructions (ftp address, username, password) from your web host, but it's fairly simple to use.
You put the ftp address in the IE address bar. ie. ftp://ftp.mydomainname.com
A username and password window will open. Enter them and click ok.
You end up in a window that looks just like a folder on your hard drive. From here, you can drag anything from your hard drive to the ftp folder.
For those that prefer not to work in a "Windows" like environment, CuteFTP from GlobalScape is an excellent little program which is pretty affordable and easy to use. www.cuteftp.com

Sorry for getting to this thread so late Alice. I forgot about daylight savings. I use FTP Commander simply because it's free for starters, and my ISP support staff use it as well. If I have any problems help is just a call away. As for my kitties, the small one is Ash and the larger one is Char. That's pronounced Shar. Kerria picked that because she's the color of Charcoal. We're not very creative in our pet names, sorry. We love your kitties name. How do people come up with these pet names. We're extremely traditional when it comes to naming pets. Next time we get a cat or dog, I'm coming here for idea's.

Raffy started out as "Raffles",after the gentleman burglar of the same name.Chumley came from P.G.Wodehouse,and Tuppy came from Wodehouse, too.Tuppy is an English nickname, but I don't know what it's short for.
When I hear or see a neat name,I earmark it for a future cat.It took 3 years before I was able to use Chumley.

Sherry,
We did something special. We were invited to the Wunk Sheek Spring Traditional Pow-Wow held on Saturday. I didn't bring the camera cus I intended to dance and I danced every Intertribal. It was indoors and the lighting was crummy. We will get to some outdoor ones this summer and take pics. This went on 'til 10pm so I wuz wore out yesterday.:)
