This is probably not the right forum for this but here goes anyway....
Is there a way to print off the file names of everything on a disk? Opening all my photos on the disk to print off thumbnails may overwhelm my computer. I am thinking if I could just print off what shows when I hit the open button and all my file names are showing I would know what I have on the disk, but I don't know if that can be done. Do you? My word processing program is Word (Microsoft Office Word).
Thanks!

Colleen, if you're using Windows XP, Microsoft does not provide a way of printing file lists. There are some workarounds, as on the O'Reilly site, but they seem tricky. Checking on Google will give you links to file printing software. I have been using STG FolderPrint Plus for quite a while and have found it very helpful. It allows me to print a list of the photo files I have put on a cd or dvd in different formats, including a cd back cover. Of course, you can print files from folders on your hard drive as well. You might check it out; it is not expensive.

Thanks Ellie:
I find it amazing that they have not incorporated a way to do that!! Don't get me wrong....I absolutely believe you...I just can't imagine that they didn't find that that would be a very useful tool!!!! The word processing that I used back in the mid 80's even had that option......
So much for progress........

Colleen, here is a link to a Microsoft Support article which tells you how to add the possibility of printing folder contents. I had seen this article but did not want to bother with the process of editing the registry, etc., when I could find a good program to do the job.
