Dallas area by NorthPark Mall (won't mean much to those not from Dallas). Heavy rains all day street floodings and closures throughout the city. Went by White Rock Lake late afternoon. Most of the picnic tables under water. Saw several of the docked sailboats flooded. Many others turned on side by the winds. One brave (?foolish?) man in kayak was paddling toward one sailboat that seemed to have broken its mooring and free floating. Violated photographer's rule and did not have a camera with me.

I figure you don't have a basement? Sorry to hear about the flooding in your area. Hope the weather forcast for you doesn't include any more rain for a while!

I guess it's safe to assume that most Texas homes don't have cellars ?? At least I hope so in yopur case. That's alot of rain ! Stay dry if you can !

nope for whatever reason, probably the rocky and thick clay like soil we have here, we do not have basements. We do have storm cellars that we build to run from tornados but those are not attached to the house usually and very rare to find, especially in new homes.
jayegirl, hope you are still high and dry. We didnt get near as much rain on this side of town as you did there. Would have been nice as the lake I live across the street from has almost dried up. I am sure we got a good rain but wasnt enough to bring our lake up. The docks have been sitting out of water by about 20ft.
Ward, I cannot believe you went around looking at the flood and forgot your camera...LOL I hope you get out today with it!
