(Mac) Hack-my-mac contest ended...

There was recent talk of security issues and virus infection. Well, a guy held a contest to hack his Mac mini over the internet. After 38 hours, he closed the contest and his machine was still intact. Pretty cool, huh? ;)

We do love our Macs don't we ;-). My mother-in-law wanted a mac because she had friends that had pc's that were put down due to viruses, etc. My brother-in-law had the same. Now my sister-in-law is looking at a mac due to the same thing. I know both of my daughters in college (Cornell University and Occidental) would have preferred to have macs but the schools really didn't support them that well or not at all - tho there are a lot of macs on both of the campuses.
But we can't be too smug - there is always a possibility - just not as many possibilities as the other side of the isle.

I believe that the university close the contest down as it was generating unwanted traffic. Second a similar in Swedish challenge the Mac was Hacked with in 30 minutes. While it was not hacked from the internet it was hacked and a hack is a hack.

Now if I am ever stupid enough to buy a Mac I would put a protection in place.

I believe it was some one on the network not some one on the computer that hacked it.
